To Over Half A Century Of Service
After three generations, the Blackley Funeral Home has come to be regarded as a neighborhood institution and a community tradition.
John H. “Jack” Blackley, Jr. began his career in funeral service at a young age, working at his Uncle's funeral parlor, Coester Brothers Undertaking Company, in Harlem.
Borrowing his first months rent, Jack and his wife, Mae, founded the Blackley Funeral Home on May 15, 1933. Since then, countless families have grown to depend on the Blackley family for the wide range of service options offered, the finest funeral and memorial services, the most comfortable facility, and the most compassionate attention to each family’s needs.

Upon Jack’s retirement, the helm was passed onto his son, John H. III and wife, Arlene. With the addition of new staff and a committment to service, the tradition of the Blackley Funeral Home was created into a new standard of excellence where customer service and satisfaction became the primary objective.
Tom Blackley, current owner and third generation, has been continuing the family tradition of service, and has gathered around him a staff of caring, compassionate funeral professionals dedicated to serving local families in their time of need.
The Blackley Funeral Home & Cremation Services has been, and always will be, the one to turn to before, during, and after the funeral.
